Not exactly Carl. NTP is smart enough to pick the best server from a bunch. 3 or 4 is usually enough. You provide more than one because the client is smart enough to fall back to another when one becomes un-reachable. Any ntp server beyond strata 2 is likely to be up and down occasionally because they are not usually a priority service. Hence the need for more than one. Most ISPs supply an ntp server. Just ping ntp.yourisp.net/com to find out. Most EDU domains also have one. -- _____________________________________ John Andersen
