You have to look at those delivery failure notices closely. Usually they reflect a bad recipient address or a misbehaving SMTP server at or along the way to that recipient's address, not a problem with redistributing your message to the whole list. Depending on the configuration of the complaining server, the notification can end up back at the original sender (you) instead of the (SUSE) list server.
There is a chap (gpn39f) that is bouncing back email sent from the list back to us (already reported to the list owner). It might well be that those bounces were what kernel.2k5 got, who mistakenly thought his emails to all the list were being rejected - an impression probably worsened by gmail filtering of what they consider duplicated emails (ie, senders do not get a copy from list).
