Hello all:
I have SUSE 10.1 installed. The default shortcut for changing keyboard layout in KDE 3.5 is CTRL+ALT+K. I would like to change this either to (left)ALT+(left)SHIFT or (left)ALT+(left)CTRL which would be more convenient for me. I tried to change the setting in StartMenu/PersonalSettings/ Regional&Accessibility/KeyboardShortcuts/ShortcutSchemes tab but it did not accept any of the above. Isn't is possible to set these as shortcuts?
The tab 'Shortcut Schemes' has 3 sub tabs. The first, called 'Global Shortcuts' has, at the bottom of the list, an entry called 'Keyboard' -> Switch to Next keyboard Layout I used the key-combo 'Ctrl+Menu'. This works perfectly for me. Perhaps it is possible to use the key-combo's you wish, but beware: on my system (SL 10.1, KDE-3.5.4) (and perhaps yours): 1. R-Shift+R-Ctrl is used for key combo's to e.g. produce ä or â etc.: R-Shift+R-Ctrl + " + a R-Shift+R-Ctrl + ^ + a 2. L-Shift+L-Ctrl is not used AFAIK 3. L-Ctrl+L-Shift is used to enter LTR-text (Latin text, e.g. English) 4. R-Ctrl+R-Shift is used to enter RTL-text (E.g. Arab or Hebrew) Use 4. and 3. to switch back and forth between 3. and 4.
