Painful to download complete sets of CDs for just few packages.
We had a very lengthy discussion recently where people complained that there are no source CDs for openSUSE ;-) And now it's exactly the other way round.
RH seems to provide sources for the whole RHEL line on the web - so I take it SUSE is not doing the same?
Doesn't look like that. But the menu is already in Factory: http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source/suse/sr... (package "gnome-main-menu") and for the rest, I doubt that you will find much audience for your project. Many openSUSE users are already complaining that the GNOME packages in 10.1/SLED10 are too old. So better wait for a good 10.2 release (with GNOME 2.16).
