Hello, I am stuck at configuring a Suse 10.0 box with USB infrared dongles to receive files from mobile phones. The dongles are correctly identified as SigmaTel 4200 devices, assigned irda0, and irdadump shows they also read the phones correctly - i.e. nick and capabilities. However, when one initiates a transfer from a mobile, the phone invariably says "Unable to connect." I have tested it with various models of common cellphone brands (Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Siemens, Samsung, HTC Smartphones) - all failed. FYI, OBEX works in this case - there's no problem at all transferring files through bluetooth. Or are they different things? Bg info: I am working at a chain of consumer photo processing labs which is just starting to take digital images seriously. Its initial effort was Windows-centric, but after daily intakes of viruses and other assorted malfunctions it agreed to have the front end workstations converted to Linux. So far so good, except that infrared thing. The config: Pentium 4/3.0GHz CPU's, Asus P4P800 series mainboards, 512MB RAM, 120GB hard drives, SUSE 10.0 with Laptop and Mobile packages. Any enlightement gratefully appreciated.
