How about;
# mv /usrlib/codecs/* ~/gnome2/totem-addons
HTH & Regrads.
Thanks, Masaru Nomiya, but it seems to me that I don't get the point. I've moved/copied all the files in MPlayer essential-20060611 to ~/.gnome2/totem-addons and restarted Totem to no avail: no video file is played. citlali:~/.gnome2/totem-addons # ls AvidQTAVUICodec.qtx clrviddd.dll msscds32.ax vp7vfw.dll BeHereiVideo.qtx codecs nsrt2432.acm vssh264.dll CLRVIDDC.DLL cook.so qpeg32.dll vssh264core.dll CtWbJpg.DLL drvc.so qtmlClient.dll vssh264dec.dll DECVW_32.DLL dspr.so.6.0 rt32dcmp.dll vsshdsd.dll LCMW2.dll iac25_32.ax sipr.so.6.0 vsslight.dll LCODCCMW2E.dll icmw_32.dll tm20dec.ax vsswlt.dll QuickTime.qts imc32.acm tokf.so.6.0 wma9dmod.dll QuickTimeEssentials.qtx ir41_32.dll tokr.so.6.0 wmadmod.dll QuickTimeInternetExtras.qtx ir50_32.dll tvqdec.dll wmsdmod.dll README ivvideo.dll vdowave.drv wmspdmod.dll VDODEC32.dll jp2avi.dll vid_3ivX.xa wmv9dmod.dll ViVD2.dll lhacm.acm vivog723.acm wmvadvd.dll acelpdec.ax lsvxdec.dll vmnc.dll wmvdmod.dll alf2cd.acm m3jp2k32.dll voxmsdec.ax wnvwinx.dll aslcodec_dshow.dll mi-sc4.acm vp4vfw.dll wvc1dmod.dll atrac3.acm msh261.drv vp5vfw.dll atrc.so.6.0 msms001.vwp vp6vfw.dll Here the contents of the ~/.gnome2/totem-addons folder. I've also tried by copying them to ~/.gnome2/totem-addons/codecs. Same result. It is far clear that I'm completely new to Linux! Please, where am I wrong/what step am I missing? Thanks!
