I'm downloading the 5 CDs now, already downloaded the DVD for 10.1, but K3bis saying its not an iso image and just to rub some salt in the wounds /mnt no longer exists so I cant check whats being written to cd/dvd, luckily the second machine has a cdr drive, I can use cds but not dvd's.
When i installed 10.1, i first tried CD and got a mysterious "software package missing" wherewhere during the install (with no hint as to what was missing). i burned the DVD (also with k3b) and it worked fine. Before going through the pain of CDs, check the md5 of your DVD image - it might be bad. Good luck...
OK Stephan, K3B said the md5 checksum was OK, but the DVD was not an iso image, I tried the inet boot image but I dont have an ip address for a Suse install server, if there is one. 3749724160 Jul 26 21:49 SUSE-Linux-10.1-GM-DVD-i386.iso Does that look correct ? Unfortunately the other machine hasn't a dvd burner, but I did backup that iso image on the other machine, but I don't know how to make the other machine look like a mounted drive, especially my /mnt directory has disappeared after an on line update. There are "features" on MDV 2007n which should not be there at one month before release :( Richard -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
