I'm still understanding zmd/rug, but seems to work for me.... a good place to start is: http://en.opensuse.org/Rug Two good things about rug are: 1. the possibility to go back in time (your packages) with checkpoints; 2. the history about updates/installs "rug --help" is highly recommended... maybe if rug was integrated into yast, the transition "YOU to zmd" was easier.... _________________________________________________________ Lawrence Ferreira AIX, HP-UX and SuSE Linux Enterprise Server Administrator LINUX User (openSUSE-10.1 & SLES9) #271016 LPIC-1 - Linux Certified Professional Patrick Shanahan wrote:

[07-27-06 12:10]: Thanks Patrick. I've not used smart but from what you post I take this to mean that Yast is correct and that Zen wants to update this package with an older version.
Is this then (yet another) bug in Zen?
I do not know, but my experiences with the *new* yast/zen have not been the best. BUT, I have had problems with smart missing dependencies and mixing incompatible versions when updating, ie: yast* and xorg.x11*.
My system still has problems.... but is operable
