Also if you change distro you stand a much better chance that the new distro will accept the existing partition table and just format / & /usr. No, it doesn't. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. In 20+ years of using well over 2 doz computers and probably 75 HD's, I have never lost a logical partition.
