I am using most of the time the wireless network to access the
intranet
and
internet. Sometimes however I have to plug my notebook into an
ethernet
network
that I cannot reach by the wireless network.
As soon as I plug in the ethernet cable the wireless network is shut
down
and
I
am not able to start it again. This only works when I disconnect the
ethernet
cable.
How can I configure the network interfaces such that the wireless
connection
survives plugging in the network cable?
I am using the traditional networks scripts.
Any chance there's some subnet conflict going on (ie, the Ethernet and
wireless networks trying to use addresses on the same subnet)?
What does `ip addr` report about the interfaces when you're connected to
the Ethernet?
