In going through YAST (text mode) I realized I needed a few packages. I went to install them. When asking for the discs, however, I was told to insert 10.0 discs. I verified that the system was 10.1.
And your install sources are also 10.1?
Yes, it is very weird. I went through and installed 10.1 from CD (this is a test server which is being installed on an older (P-IV 2.4GHz) workstation and doesn't have a DVD drive...grrr...) and all was well. When I wanted to add something (I forget what) I was prompted to insert the 10.0 CD 2. Not thinking what it said, I just put in CD2 from where I installed. It then kept repeating that it wanted 10.0 CD2. That's when I noticed the issue. I went ahead and did the Windows thing - reformatted and included KDE in the installation. I'll normally boot it to runlevel 3 but will have KDE around for management. This is my first SUSE server at my department! I will be running a Wiki for our documentation. I'm not telling anyone that the underlying server will be a LAMP stack. :) -- k -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
