I'm a longtime linux user, but new to SUSE. What is the syntax for adding repositories to the software installer in YAST? I've added http://ftp.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.1/inst-source/ as an http source and after hitting "finish" it's been thinking for ~ 2hr.
Is there a tutorial?
Hi Paul,
The only 'tutorial' I can think of informs newcomers to SUSE that entering installation sources has always required this format:
protocol: http server: packman.rsync.zmi.at directory: suse/10.0
Note there are no trailing or leading slashes in the directory field. If you use trailing and/or leading slashes, YaST 'thinks' a looooong time and eventually reports an error resolving the source.

Carl, Thanks for the advice. I tried entering (in the appropriate fields) protocol: http server: ftp.opensuse.org directory: pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.1/inst-source w/ no leading or trailing slashes, but no luck. Since I can browse to this directory, I know it's there. Is there a specific subdirectory that Yast searches through to find the packages? Paul
