Also when I run /proc/stat as root I get 'Permission denied', I would like to know why.
Because it is not a program. Since when can you execute a data file?
Is That reason enough .. ?..
Are you serious? :-O Do you really think it is possible to run "/proc/stat"? Well, if you insist... change its attribute to executable via "chmod a+x /proc/stat", and try... but I'm not responsible of any consequences to your system. At best, it will simply crash the console. It's your computer you are playing with, I hope. - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFEamk4tTMYHG2NR9URAtgeAJ9892mG9rC5mPqxU/KjHdKQBNcH7gCdGCKY 3nMlvzDg/RaxAQPzt7mLWyQ= =z5Ry -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
