Just wondered what peple would consider the best deal up to about $150? I don't any of the 30GB models. Size I'd say up to 10GB would suffice for ym needs.
The Cowon iAudio X5 is a little over your price range, but it plays ogg and is supposed to play nicely with Linux.
One of my co-workers has the A2. It is primarily a video player but also does FLAC and OGG. It has been very nice. He got it in December and has been very happy.

Maybe I'll have to break open the piggy bank and check into one of these. I see the X5 20GB at Amazon for $250. I like companies which specifically state that they don't mind people using Linux.
Thank you for all the replies! That was awful hard to choose. Found that many of the iRiver's now seem to be Windows only due to protectionism. Samsung looked nice to, but weren't quite there. Having a look through Cowon though and various online reviews I nearly went for the U2, but instead chose the G3 model, found the cheapest at $99.00 with a total of $105.10 including s&h. Someone else did a review of both models and took ogg and other non-windows systems into account. Oh, I went past a Circuit city and decided to browse, well you know those assistants. One asked if I needed help and I replied that I use Linux, and lo and behold he left real fast. Normally say "no thanks", which takes three or four times for them to listen and leave lol in my experience. Matt
