~/public_html Problem in SuSE 10.1

Hi, Encountered really annoying and nasty glitch. Have not been able to get ~/public_html working. First of all, YaST2 Apache2 config tool always throws an error - Interface 'nil' is not assigned to any firewall zone, no matter if I have SuSEfirewall enabled, running or not (btw, I am using shorewall, but it does not matter right now). Anyway, apache is working in default www directory, phpinfo() prints correct information. 100% clean install of SuSE 10.1 Apache modules: php5, perl, mod_userdir enabled Stock /etc/apache2/mod_userdir.conf included in sysconfig->apache2 Trying access http://localhost/~andrei/index.php [Sun May 21 13:33:34 2006] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] File does not exist: /srv/www/htdocs/~andrei Seems to be something broken in mod_userdir ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I have found this receipt at: http://www.suseforums.net/index.php?showtopic=25165 Activate mod_rewrite, and include this mod_rewrite.conf in sysconfig->apache2 Options None AllowOverride ALL Order allow,deny Allow from all </Directory> <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> # Modify rule to exclude roots folder. RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^/~([a-z]+)(.*) /home/DOMAIN_DIR/$1/public_html$2 </IfModule> Its still does not work: [Sun May 21 13:07:21 2006] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] client denied by server configuration: /home/DOMAIN_DIR ------------------------------------------------------------------ Anyone have an idea how to solve it?
