I'm using the latest kernel, 2.6.16.13-4 and have an AMD64 x2 board. The graphics card is a GF 7600 GT, and whenever I run the X11 on the smp kernel the nvidia driver dies and leaves a white, non usable window. The driver runs well with the non-smp kernel version.
Has anyone run into this problem? any solutions?
I can answer the question myself, it appears that the "EvDev" that I was using to control mouse/keyboard instructions from my logitech, was the one causing the problems. Using a standard mouse driver in the X config file instead, solved it. At least to the point where I can run it with graphics, but had a lockup running Doom3.
