Thanks a lot for all your testing, bug reporting, comments and encouragement through this especially long beta and release phase of SUSE Linux 10.1. So no solution for makeSUSEdvd and create_package_descr. No way people can make their own ISO.
I raised a bug with the install hanging when trying to patch on RC3 and it hasn't even been assigned yet! It might have been a server problem (although with no timeout after 2 hours and 0% progress), I was rather suprised to see Andreas' post when I got back to the office this evening...
