Dear all, Last thursday I installed latest kernel update for sles9, to make my system completely up-to-date. After this update, my system didn't boot anymore. Grub said: "Invalid or unsupported executable format". Also safe mode didn't work. Since all my data was in various lvm volumes, I simply restored my root filesystem from backup, and now I'm up and running again. Tried the kernel update again, and this time it worked. Strange, eh..? Any ideas what could have gone wrong the first time? Yast did not complain at all, it installed the kernel update without a hitch. Shutting down the system after the kernel update took longer than usual, and I noticed some errors about glibc on the console. (I was too late to write them down) My hardware is IBM xSeries 335 with hardware raid 1. Any ideas? Mourik Jan
