Hi John, Your /var/log/messages (received by PM) contains a lot of ACPI warnings and what I'd describe as IRQ 'probing/juggling' activity centered around the usb subsystem. Since your mouse is usb, it might be worth testing the boot parameter "acpi=noirq". Enter "acpi=noirq" (no quotes) at your Grub boot prompt. [Use the 'F' key (F3?) to expand the options line and type it in before hitting 'Enter' to boot.] If this fixes the problem, you can add it to the appropriate entry in /boot/grub/menu.lst to make it permanent. If you don't feel like editing config files manually, launch YaST's Boot Loader Configuration module from the YaST Control Center. And please report back the results, OK? Good luck & regards, Carl
