You are correct, and I do this. However, strictly speaking, it is not legal. There is legal DVD software for Windows. In my opinion there is no reason not to have legal DVD software for Linux. It's downright silly, in fact. Years have passed and nothing has changed. Why?

Both TurboLinux and HP (on a Suse Laptop) Have Licensed DVD software! The problem is, the company that makes it, has chosen NOT to sell to regular Linux users, and No other distro other then TurboLinux has licensed it. I used to email the manufacturer and ask when could I buy it, but as the demand wasn't big enough, they ignored it.
