Hi all,
<<snipped>>
Problem: The problem I?m facing at the moment is that whether I got something wrong with my /etc/X11/xorg.conf file changes or I missed something in the whole HOWTO because if I follow the instructions ?resolution ?l? outputs 1400 x 1050 but the actual resolution of the screen it still 1280 x 1024. If I try to change something in the xorg.conf file then sometimes the Xserver cannot be started up at all or it starts up with the 1280 x 1024 resolution.
Question: Does someone have a detailed HOWTO for E X A C T L Y my laptop series (Samsung X20 XVM 1730 V)? Or did someone already solve the problem on a Samsung X20 and could send me his xorg.conf file ? not matter which Samsung X20 it is exactly that the file comes from as long as it runs with the same intel chipset I think. I would for sure try all files I?d receive as well as any other suggestions to solve the problem, because I am really sick of this 1280 x 1024 resolution compared to the one I achieve in WinXP at the moment?
You?d really help me a lot!! Thanks to all who read this long mail and sorry for any circumstances.
With best regards Thomas
