Hi, I am having IBM x336 with 2 units of 3.0GHz 64-bit CPUs. I am trying to install Suse Linux Professional 9.3 x86_64 downloaded from ftp://suse.cs.utah.edu/pub/suse.com/suse/i386/9.3/iso/SUSE-9.3-Eval-DVD.iso. According to the README file in the above ftp, the DVD version contains 64-bit kernel and 32-bit kernels. During installation on IBM x336, there is no selection to choose the 64-bit ( the first installation page should show 'F6 64bit' selection). Once installation is completed, only the 32-bit is installed. 'uname -m' shows i686 instead of showing 'x86_64'. Has anyone ever installed Suse Professional 9.3 x86_64 on IBM x336 and managed to get the 64-bit kernel installed ? I have tried to install Suse Enterprise 9.3 x64_64 on the same IBM x336 and it does install the 64-bit kernel ('uname -m' shows 'x86_64'). Thank you. --------------------------------- Brings words and photos together (easily) with PhotoMail - it's free and works with Yahoo! Mail.
