I've looked around and googled but can't find anything. Does anyone know of a way to set the power button to intiate the shutdown dialog box instead of simply shutting down?

Aha! Many thanks. That article lead me to realize there's an ACPI module in Yast. Hence, the answer to my question is... YaST > System > Power Management > ACPI Settings > Power Button. There are sevral options: Notify, Shut Down, Log Out, Switch to Standby, Suspend to RAM, Suspend to Disc, Start Screen Saver, Ignore I switched to "Notify" and all is now well. -- kai ponte www.perfectreign.com || www.livebeans.com linux - genuine windows replacement part
