yes, BUT the OP also needs to keep their confidence level, relative to what they know NOW (even if it's the way windows does things) if we wish them to move over with relative confidence.
I don't think by giving a person a false sense of security helps much with confidence. It is like teaching a person to fly and then you paint a nice landskape inside all windows. I would rather suggest that you use a graphical firewall tool, like firewall builder (www.fwbuilder.org). I used it a few years ago and it helped me a lot to understand how a firewall works.
