-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Another thing, when you run the install_browser_pliugin, choose manual install and give the lib folder of your browser when asked for, eg for firefox /opt/MozillaFirefox/lib then once its copied, open control center, go to internet & network, browser, then select plugins. Add that lib directory and then click scan for new plugins. Now when u open a new instance of the browser, u shud be able to see pdf's Arun Daniel Bauer wrote:
thanks, Kai this worked fine
just a small addendum, if others have the same problem and not yet have dealt with it ;-) : the name of the script is: install_browser_plugin (underscores, not hyphens)
I had the following dialog (as root):
root-prompt:/ # cd /usr/X11R6/lib/Acrobat7/Browser/ root-prompt:/usr/X11R6/lib/Acrobat7/Browser # ./install_browser_plugin This will install the browser plugin for acroread.
Enter the install directory for Adobe Reader 7.0 [/usr/X11R6/lib/Acrobat7]
1. Perform global installation 2. Perform user-specific installation (Mozilla/Firefox/Netscape) Enter your choice [1/2] 1
Enter the browser install directory - /usr/lib/seamonkey Installation successful. Added the file /usr/lib/seamonkey/plugins/nppdf.so

Hi everybody
Just installed seaMonkey with Yast using rpms found on ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/projects/mozilla/seamonkey/ 1. 0 on Suse 10.0 / KDE 3.5.1.
Now pdf's are not opened. It looks as if they are loaded, but they will not be displayed, no Acrobat or acroread splash screen appears. about:plugins lists Adobe Reader 7.0, File name: nppdf.so and says it's enabled... Since SeaMonkey is - AFAIK - Firefox++ you probably are running into the same issue as FF did.
Do a search for a file called 'install-browser-plugin'. Then 'su' to root and run the script:
./install-browser-plugin
Do #1, Global (something), answering the questions it asks.
If it asks to over-write, say yes.
Then open FF and do the command about:plugins
If you're still having an issue, search for it. We've all dealt with it. :P -- kai - www.perfectreign.com www.livebeans.com - the new NetBeans community
