I went to adobe.com and found an Adobe Reader for Linux. The reader is installed however Wiley tells me that the e-book file is a special encrypted file and the Adobe reader must be "activated'. Checked with Adobe and found that they don't support activation of the Linux reader - only mac and M$.
Anyone know of a way around this?
I realize your eBook order concerns a book about SUSE 10, but this thread is really concerned with how you go about fulfilling your order. I'd have contacted customer service first, not written SLE. Moreover, the second Google hit I got when I searched for "ebx.etd" was this: http://www.ebookmall.com/knowledge-collection/adobe-pdf.htm There were 694 others. I'm sure if you read up on it you'll figure out what to do. regards, Carl

Hi All;
I bought the ebook from the below link. The site then had me downloada file 'ebx.etd' which appears to be an XML file. I have no idea what I should do to read the ebook based on this xml file. Anyone have any ideas?
From the site:
System and Software Requirements
Wiley e-books are in a special format that must be viewed with a special file-reading program. The most current version of this program is Adobe Reader 6.0, which you can download for free at Adobe.com. You will need to install the Reader and activate it according to the instructions given in the application.
If you do not meet the system requirements (listed below) for Adobe Reader 6.0, you can use an older program called Adobe Acrobat eBook Reader 2.2. It is no longer offered by Adobe for new installations, but you can use it to read Wiley e-books if you already have it installed.
