I don't know what I've done, but somehow I've managed to really break image viewing on my SUSE10.0 with the latest KDE3.5 (from apt).
I have 2 computers running basically identical installs of SUSE10.0 - both which are updated to the latest of everything in the apt repositories.
Computer 1 is working fine - images are shown, thumbnails are showing in Konqeror. When I click on an image it's shown in Konqeror. If I open the image in Gwenview, or Kuickshow it is viewable
Computer 2 cannot show images at all. The thumbnails in Konqueror are not showing (I get a blank spot where the thumbnail should be.. just the filename is shown). If I click on the image, Konq asks what to do with the image - as if the file associations are broken. I've checked the file associations, and they are all exactly the same as on the working computer.
If I try to open the image in Gwenview, the viewer opens, and only a black bit is shown where the image should be.
If I try to open the image in Kuickshow it comes up blank as well.
But... if I open the image in KView I can see the image just fine.
Check the file associations in gnome-control-center as well. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998
