No key combination or mouse movement works for me. I tried SHIFT, CTRL, ALT, ENTER, CTRL-ALT-F1 through F12 no response from any keys. I have tried this at least five times by now. The only thing that does work is PING from another machine. I tried SSH but there was no response either. Does anyone know if a PING response is generated by the hardware or does the Kernel need to be alive to respond to the PING? Any suggestions what to do next to recover from Suspend mode? When I put my IBM T42 laptop into Standby mode everything appears to be OK, that is there were no error messages.
However, when the machine tries to recover the screen is a messed up version of the KDE window that was there.
Has anyone seen this problem / found a solution?
My notebook does that too. But it's temporary... just a few seconds. Hitting the Shift key or the mouse or otherwise telling the system that there's console activity brings the desktop up.
Does that work for you?
