I've just set up remote administration on a SuSE 10.0 server. When the machine was first installed, it was set up with the "text-only" minimum install. I installed the Remote Administration bits using YaST and it installed fvwm, vnc and so on. I also installed Firefox so I'd be able to use the web during remote administration. I'm connecting to this machine from a PC using PuTTY, port 5901 is ssh tunneled from my PC to the SuSE 10.0 box. When I open TightVNC on my PC and connect to "localhost:1" I get the SuSE log-in prompt on the remote machine, I cant log in, and I get the fvwm desktop. Most of the bits and pieces on the fvwm toolbar seem to work OK except I can't seem to start xterm... the right-hand icon offers "Shell in XTerm" and "Root shell" but when I click either of these, nothing appears to happen. Any clues? Thanks in advance, James
