KsCD works for audio CDs. Amarok has a menu selection "play audio CD", but it's always grayed out. Any idea why it's like that even with KsCD closed and a standard audio CD in the drive?
Remember, there's a bunch of levels in KMix and also in the YaST sound configuration thingy. It has - among other things - CD, PCM and Master configuration options. I'm not sure yet how they all interact, and may never know. However, it seems to work for me. I play CD's, DVD's (audio and video), MP3s, Oggs, Flacs, wavs.... It all works great!
I don't use my PCs for playing music as I have a big HI-FI for that :-) and sorry, but I can't help you with any KDE apps as I don't use them.
You have my condolences. KDE Rox! In fact, its Kool. (Of course, having gone to Tubingen, I'm a bit partial.) I keep trying to like Gnome but just can't get over how ugly it is. Unfortunately, that new Nokia handheld uses Gnome. :( -- kai www.perfectreign.com linux - genuine windows replacement part
