here is another long shot answer :)
when you implement "split brain" with bind, the spliting is identified and
done on the basis to which network
it is connected to or should i say segmented (devided into) so if you have
enabled dynamic updates
and your client hosts are updating, they would naturally update to the
half-brain zone that is assigned
to the same ip network in which they are.

This is a bit of a longshot, but someone here might just have looked into this already:
My BIND name-server serves two different views depending on the client. The two views both include the same zone, but with different zone-files. If I were to use nsupdate to do dynamic updates of this zone, which view/zone-file should I expect to be updated?
