when I use the Suse10 (OSS) . I found that is not as good as Windows2000 when accessing the internet.
I have a line rent from the Telecom company . and I constructed a Office Lan by using router(with one uplink_input port and four lan port). DHCP, DNS ,and HTTP proxy functions is supported by my router.I have set my network device as automatic_get_IPaddress mode. when I access the resource from internet , I found the speed is slow ,and I can not endure that.
then you should get a faster line. seriously, without ANY detail on this matter, do you really expect someone to be able to help you with that, or are you just flamebaiting? what kind of line? what kind of router? the router does http proxy? does it even have enough horsepower? what kind of network device are we talking about, when you say "automatic_get_IPaddress" mode? because there's no such setting in suse, it's called "use DHCP" here. and finally, what are you accessing, and how, when you "access the resource from internet"? bye, MH
