[12-14-05 18:45]: I have SuSe 9.3 Pro and I am just learning to use it. I need to change the working directory from with in Shell but I can't find any help on this so can someone please advise what I am to do.
cd is the command to change directories
from the command line: help cd
will give a basic explanation of usage.
Here are a few other variables that might help you $HOME = your home directory $PWD = present working directory .. = takes you up one level
That being said, I'm wondering why you are logging in as su. Unless you need to install software system-wide, your basic account should do.
