could also get Free BSD and build a working web server. Remember, there's no gui by default there.
You could build the same web server with Linux and there is in fact a GUI.
You might also get one of the Red Hat clones - white box, Cent OS, or Tao - and check those out.
CentOS has so far held up to my tests but I don't like RedHat very much. It's not bad though.
