Hi,
Am trying to get the built-in wireless up and running on an HP dv1000 ( dv1355EA ). dmesg includes the following :

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what this means / what I might be able to do about it?
Are you seeing any evidence of a problem beyond the above messages? Those messages themselves are not an indication of any problem. They mean you are doing something that installs kernel modules not distributed with your kernel. That is not a problem unless you think you haven't added anything to your system that didn't come from Novel (SuSE).
It does mean that if you call Novel for help they will say that you need to work with whoever supplied the software, and not with Novel, to resolve any problems.
I had assumed that that was part of the reason that the onboard wireless nic fails to attach. Obviously not : I shall look elsewhere. Thanks for that, Regards, F
