Good morning, I use Kylix 3 quite extensively. Unfortunately Borland no longer supports it. The last version of SuSE I have had to do no tweaking was on SuSE 8.0 (Kernel 2.4.18-4GB). Currently the latest version of SuSE I can make it run without any issues is SuSE 9.1. I need to add ‘export “LD_KERNEL_ASSUME=2.4.1”’ to the startup script otherwise I get Glibc errors. On SuSE 9.3 I installed Kylix and the compiler works but I would like to use the IDE as it offers code completion and syntax highlighting. It also makes debugging much easier with breakpoints and when it hits a breakpoint you can hover over a variable with your mouse to see the value of the variable. The big problem is that the Kylix IDE runs in a whine environment, although applications compiled with the Kylix compiler do not require this. I have determined that depending on the value I set in ‘export “LD_KERNEL_ASSUME=2.4.1”’ the font sizes etc changes, but could not find a value that makes the buttons a usable size (the smallest I could get is about 4 times what it should be) and make the font a readable size (the largest I could get is about 1pt - which even with my glasses and a magnifying glass I can still not read). I have tried 2.4.1 (best version), 2.2.5 and 2.4.18 with no success. Any ideas would be appreciated. Albert -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
