I have an executable file in /root/bin. /root/bin is the first entry in my $PATH environment variable. If I enter this command as --
Mycommand
I get --
Line 4: Desktop: command not found
If I do
cd bin ./Mycommand
it works. Can you no longer simply enter an executable's name from a shell and have it search you PATH, find the file, and execute it?
Hrm...you should be able to... This is a shell launched from X? Have you confirmed the path? (`echo $PATH` will show it to you -- make sure it is set the way you want it to be.)
