I do not know a specific product for this, but reading the requirements, I think that subversion (svn) will do most of the stuff.
Thanks Sunny. I will have a look.
The only thing in your requirements which bothers me is that the files have to be encrypted on the fly upon upload, but decrypted by the user after download. This scenario is hard to maintain, there is always a good possibility to double encrypt a file, if a user forgets to decrypt it before submit, etc., but ... with good discipline it will go.
The bosses are a bit paranoid that someone might get access to their documents as they want to but financial reports and customer lists on the repository. Because of this, they do not want anyone to be able to open a document should that person gain access to the system. Most of the people who will be using this repository know how to work Outlook, Word and Excel and apart from switching it on and off they can't do anything else with a computer. The one lady bought a new laptop because her old one did not have WiFi and she didn't like the PCMCIA card sticking out the side. Thanks again Albert -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
