ftp.gwdg.de still is delivering 60 MByte/sec (you will not see it because you are 3000 downloaders), and later today the ISOs for Alpha 2 shall be released...
Wow!!!
I've connected via ftp shell commando and get the next header:

Amazing!
But totally stressed now since we have opened SL-10.1-OSS-alpha2. No longer 60 MByte/sec, even less than half of it, because the RAM is by far not enough and the filesystem is not able (and I guess NOT ANY filesystem is) to satisfy 2000 or 3000 unsers (at any moment!) directly from the disks. My 12 GB RAM should be 32 GB, to cache the most hitted files, but this architecture has no more spare slots for RAM. Until today, one eye was laughing (performance sum) and the other had tears (60 MB/sec for 3000 is 20 kB/sec for each individual). Now we will have again some days with both eyes full of tears.
