I've got an Nvidia-6100 (the integrated graphics on a micro-atx mother board) with an AMD Sempron 64 3000+. I did the install of SuSE 10.0. Everything appears to install just fine. After the install I select SuSE 10.0 from the GRUB screen and it just goes black. If I choose the "safe" one, then I get to see a screen that lists the MP-BIOS bug 8254. I have done the install with ACPI on and with ACPI off selecting no acpi from the install options. I have tried using boot options for noacpi, but with the same results. The solutions, according to http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/nforce/1.0-0301/KnownProblems.html is to add some entries to one of the kernel's driver files. No worries. I boot and select recover off of the DVD. I add all of the entries into the file. Now I need to make the kernel. I have been unsuccessful. Is there a way to make a kernel while booted into "rescue" mode from the DVD, or is there a better way to do the install that I'm missing? -Alain
