Does anyone know what "CPU0 to GOLEM0 Tx Speed select" means on a dual opteron motherboard? It's a BIOS setting.
I have no idea what GOLEM0 means (neither does google), but considering that there's a CPU0 to CPU1 thingy too (have a look at this: http://www.rioworks.com/Download/hdama%20rev.e/manual/HDAMA%20Rev.E.pdf), I would guess it's the hypertransport bridge speed between the CPU and the rest of the machine, as opposed to the HT-bus speed between the two CPUs.
Just a guess...
Your guess is as good as my guess, Hans.. It is a HDAMA board I have (plenty, in fact), but I have never dared to touch that setting. I can choose between 600 and 800MHz, but that's hardly a good lead. Oh well, I guess I have to ask Arima support about it. Thanks anyway! -- Anders Norrbring Norrbring Consulting
