I did as follows;
# pdftotext -enc EUC-JP article9.pdf article9.txt
and I've got a Japanese text file.

I did read the man pages for tthe pdftotext command. But there is no
explanation about what to eneter for the critical parameter:
-enc <string> : output text encoding name
WHat are the possible <string> choices ????
What would be a sensible choice to get just a plain readable English
text ?
