I've been thinking about Linux distributions and their problems, most notably the dependancy-installation difficulties, binary incompatibility and the size of (even basic installations). How many people would be interested in a project similar to my proposal here: http://www.opensuse.org/index.php/SLICK It is a proposition of a lightweight Linux distro based on SUSE which aims to preserve all of SUSE's strengths, but eliminate duplication of programs and try to provide a more distribution-neutral packaging method. There are many reasons both for and against this and I would appreciate the community's take on the subject. Cheers, Mat
