Use that list of packages to create an #autoyast.xml file. #Create an autoyast.xml file that contains all those packages and not #much else. Anything that is missing the installer will ask for anyhow. #Create a Yast repository with those files. This will be the basis for #your CD. or use Houghi's howto and just think 1CD instead of 1DVD. 3Populate the yast repository on disc with all the additional #directories of the iso #1 #Put the autoyast.xml file onto the yast repository and modify the #islinux.cfg to start that one with autoyast= #Create the iso using mkisofs #Autoyast: http://www.suse.de/~nashif/autoinstallation/ #I get a chance to look at the YaST CD Creator in SLES9 once beta3 is #out and I have redone some packages for SUPER for that, which is #probably Saturday/Sunday. By then I can write a howto for the Wiki, Of #course if someone else wants to do this, be my guest, saves me time and #I can use it too ;) Uriel wrote: What I have done so far is the following: 1) wrote a Makefile to do the same (just more to my needs) as Houghi's script (make iso). 2) tested (1) and it works. this is basically from 5xCD to 1xDVD (3.4 GB). I added my own "rpm's". 3) ran /sbin/yast2 autoyast and created "autoinst.xml". Copied to DVD in (2). I can now autoyast=file:///autoinst.xml. (boy this is a great tool). 4) I am now ready for my next step, reduce size of 1xDVD to only include the rpm's I need so they fit in one single CD of 700 MB. This diet requires to go from 3.3 GB to 700 MB. Question: by reading Andreas' e-mail, I get the impression that a YaST CD Creator is somewhere out there. I can't find it in my openSUSE download. If it does what I think it does, it can save me the tedius work I have been doing this afternoon in preparation for Katrina (soon our newest hurricane). I printed the list of all the rpm's I need and I started to go line by line deleting those I don't need (a very tedius task so it will be automated). But before I start writing scripts, I would be curious to see what YaST CD Creator can do, where can I find documentation?
