hello all, I am a newbie so please bear with me. I am trying to configure IP printing in the KDE environment. Prior to installing and using SUSE, I worked with the Mepis distribution with 2.6.10 kernel/KDE 3.3. I was able to configure IP printing with relative ease using the Printing manager utility. Now on to Suse 9.3. I started by firing up the printing manager utility and went to add printer. Went through the wizard selecting "Network Printer" option and went ahead and gave the correct IP address of the printer. I then proceeded to select the correct drivers and to finalize I pressed the "test" option. The problem is that the KDE Daemon would ask me to authenticate in which I did but it keeps rejecting my credentials. I tried root and my username and no luck. I tried this sseveral times to eliminate the chance of fat fingering but to no avail. So it won't let me complete the wizard without being authenticated. I tried to configure the CUPS server to allow anonymous but I still get the authorization dialog. Has anyone experienced this or have a solution? thanks, jon __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
