Someone should do a CD with Quake, Doom and the DOS version of Wolfenstein and throw them on a CD that uses .sh scripts instead of .tar.gz or RPMs and has all dependencies for them all right there so someone like me can just type sh *.sh ;)
Someone did. They're called Id Software. Well, not the DOS version of wolfenstein perhaps, but if you get quake it is a .sh installer, with absolutely no dependencies beyond a working OpenGL installation
Where? They don't have it on their web page, and I sure can't find it on Google.
Quake, when you purchase the CD, installs with the shell installer. Fred -- "BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU!" Brought to you by the US Department of Homeland Security and the Patriot Act(s) numerous Presidential Directives, etc.
