I've been looking for a better DVD player for my laptop, since mplayer works but is pretty kludgy, and I ran across Ogle via Google, and it sounded good. But when I downloaded the rpm and installed it, YAST reports that libXv.so.1 is missing. No problem, I just searched packman and pbone until I found an rpm that included this library. But when I try to YAST the xorg-x11-libs*.rpm file, I get warnings that "deleting XFree86-libs breaks other packages" and a version conflict where it offers to downgrade my XFree. Now, I've tried several different lib rpms, the most recent ones I could find, but no dice -- it looks like whatever XFree86 libs I've gotten from YOU are too far ahead of what's available otherwise. The way I figure it, this can't be an isolated problem. So somebody must have a general solution; either a way to find a library with a matching revision level, or a way to extract the single library I need out of the larger package. But so far I haven't found it. Anybody got a pointer?
