This also happens to me and I have not found a fix.
Use the script below as your default browser
#!/bin/sh /usr/bin/firefox -remote "openURL($@,new-tab)" || /usr/bin/firefox "$@"
Thanks,
Whilst this seems to work from the command line, it has made no change to clicking in a link in Thunderbird.
I have gone into the Control Centre->KDE Components->File Associations and made the shell script the default app, so what else needs to happen?
Go to configure Klipper (system tray). Under the actions tab find the http entry. Expand that and add or edit an entry in the action list to be: export MOZ_NEWURL=new-tab; firefox %s Don't forget to also change/set the description field to reflect the change. -- Frank Holt University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee I&MT Technical Services Senior Dept. of Technical Solutions Phone : (414) 229-2982 Fax : (414) 229-6389 e-mail: frankh@uwm.edu
