Shit happens. That's the reason I asked for the output on the client side as well. That's also the reason why I added step 3 (ping ip address on the internet). Only if that works you should try if DNS works also.

There is a menu in yast where you can configure the firewall. It works quite easy and should give you the desired result. Though I wouldn't rely on SuseConfig to initialize the rule set correctly after you exit yast. I recommend a reboot for unexperienced users.

Even temporary could be too long. Please give Susefirewall another try. I'll gladly walk you through the configuration if necessary. It's a lot safer than just relying on NAT and you can learn for yourself how to modify the firewall to suit your needs. Sandy PS: Please reply to the list, I do read it! (^-^)
