Sound controller in my new 9.2 install is not working. How do I troubleshoot this issue? It is a Fujitsu Siemens motherboard with integrated controller and is listed as 'Fujitsu Siemens Sound Controller'. If I choose to configure, it always gives me, no matter which type of config I choose:
'An error occured during the installation of: Sound Controller. The kernel module snd-intel8x0 for sound support could not be loaded. This can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.'
I get this also trying to "install" a USB sound card. It tries to install a module that is already loaded and fails. If I unplug the sound card and remove all of the sound modules and then try to install the card I get an error that the card can't be found. Can't install with it plugged in or unplugged. Go figure. Perhaps the people that maintain the sound card part of YaST can fix the program to check if the module is already installed instead of only trying to load it and failing because it is already loaded.
